Jonathan Djanogly has been appointed to the House of Commons Select Committee on Trade and Industry.

Subject to confirmation by Parliament later today, Jonathan Djanogly, the Member of Parliament for the Huntingdon Constituency, has been appointed to the House of Commons Select Committee on Trade and Industry.

Mr Djanogly said:

"I am delighted to have been appointed to this important Committee as, after thirteen years experience in corporate law, and a strong belief that we need to cut the red tape for our small businesses, I feel that I have a contribution to make to its work. The Select Committees were established to hold the Government to account and given Labour's efforts to emasculate Parliament, I intend to see that they do."
