Following his meeting at the House of Commons a fortnight ago with representatives of the Samuel Jones Pension Scheme, Jonathan Djanogly, the Member of Parliament for the Huntingdon Constituency, yesterday questioned the Secetary of State for Work and Pensions on the Floor of the House of Commons concerning the plight of the members of the insolvent Samuel Jones Pension Scheme members.
Mr Djanogly said:
"When the question of helping people like my very hard done by constituents came up in Work and Pensions Questions, it became clear that whilst Ministers are now saying they will look at this further, they are making no promises to solve the problem. This will be of little comfort to my constituents and I made it clear that more is expected, not only for those who are losing out, but also to allow the pensions industry to regain people's confidence, so that younger generations start to take an interest in starting to save for their retirement."
