Jonathan Djanogly has today received a response from NHS Cambridgeshire to his letter regarding the new GP led health centre for St Neots.

Jonathan Djanogly Member of Parliament for the Huntingdon Constituency has today received a response from NHS Cambridgeshire to his letter regarding the new GP led health centre for St Neots.

Mr Djanogly wrote to Chris Banks, the Chief Executive of the PCT following concerns about the contract to run the new centre being awarded to Malling Health of Kent rather than the local bid.

Mr Djanogly said,

'I received e-mails and letters from constituents and St Neots doctors who were concerned about the bidding process and the effect on the standard of care that this decision would have.'

'Mr Banks of the PCT has confirmed to me that the winning bid was chosen after thorough examination of a number of factors and that feedback is being provided to the unsuccessful parties. I understand the concern about continuity of care being affected but Mr Banks envisages the new service to be complimentary to existing practices rather than a replacement facility.'

'I am hopeful that this information will reassure those that hold concerns on this issue and I am keen to gain any observations and thoughts on this matter before I meet with Chris Banks in the next week or so.'
