Jonathan Djanogly, Member of Parliament for the Huntingdon Constituency has today voiced his support for the work that the Armed Forces do in the community.

Mr Djanogly said;

'I have grave concerns about the action taken by the National Union of Teachers to oppose military recruitment activities in schools. I and the Conservative Party are fully supportive of the community efforts of the Armed Forces and if young people are inspired to consider the excellent career opportunities on offer in the Navy, Army and Air Force, so much the better. Given that the Army, in particular, is seriously under-manned and that 1 in 10 servicemen are non-UK nationals, recruiting has become an imperative.'

'I have written to all the secondary schools in my constituency and outlined my views on this important matter whilst advising of the availability of Single Service Student Presentation Teams who are still able to visit their establishments.'"
