Jonathan Djanogly, Member of Parliament for the Huntingdon constituency met with the Chairman of the Board and the Chief Executive of Hinchingbrooke Hospital recently to discussion ongoing issues with the Trust following the recent critical report from Cambridgeshire Coroner's as well as the delay with signing the contract with Circle Healthcare Partnership. Following the meeting, Mr Djanogly said; 'I had a wide-ranging and productive discussion with the leadership team at Hinchingbrooke and they provided me with reassurance that the issues raised in the report are being taken seriously. Obviously there is an independent investigation in progress and the Hospital has agreed to abide by the findings and so it would not be prudent for me to comment further at this stage. 'We also talked over issues relating to the delay with Circle assuming control of the facility. I believe that whilst the process should run its course and the government undertake due diligence before signing the contract, I am keen that the conclusion is as swift as possible and that the uncertainty surrounding the future of the Hospital is ended. 'I know that Hinchingbrooke is a well supported local facility and I shall continue to be vigilant, not only to safeguard services but to ensure that the quality of care continues to be of the high standard my constituents have come to expect.'
