Huntingdon MP Jonathan Djanogly is encouraging charities in Huntingdonshire to make use of a welcome opportunity to raise money by a new text service. Charities across Huntingdonshire can benefit from money being raised through an innovative new scheme developed by Vodafone on a not-for-profit basis. The service allows charities and individuals to raise money via text message donations providing a free, swift and convenient means of fundraising. This service hopes to encourage giving by harnessing the charitable nature of a generation of people comfortable with using mobile phone technology. It is estimated that text donations could be worth £96 million annually by 2014. JustTextGiving is free to set up, with every penny donated going to the charity. Donations can be made by the customer of any network provider without network charges and gift aid can also be claimed on each donation. To take part in this service you must register for a unique 6-digit Vodafone Individual Code text code by following the simple instructions at www.justtextgiving.co.uk.
