Mike Penning MP, Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State at the Department for Transport, has responded to Jonathan Djanogly’s letter calling for action on the A14 upgrade. In his response the Minister has confirmed the A14 as a priority project for the government and provided further details of the planned improvements. In his autumn statement the Chancellor of the Exchequer announced that an immediate £20 million was to be awarded for A14 junction treatment to ease congestion and increase safety. Further plans for a long term solution are to be developed for announcement in spring 2012. | Letter from Mike Penning MP
