Local MP welcomes Marshall Land Systems’ Alconbury relocation

Jonathan Djanogly, Member of Parliament for the Huntingdon Constituency, has today warmly welcomed the recent announcement from Marshall Land Systems that it will be relocating to a new facility on the former Alconbury Weald RAF base.

With outline planning permission already in place, the modern, sustainable and new 14,500-square-meter manufacturing facility will support the company’s growth. It will also provide many important local jobs and apprenticeship opportunities in a well-respected Cambridgeshire company, and the relocation is due to be completed by 2025.

This positive news is the latest regarding Alconbury Weald, which has seen significant development and improvement in recent years, primarily as a result of the work of Master Developer Urban&Civic.

With a focus on engineering and design, Marshall Land Systems is an industry leader with expertise in deployable infrastructure, land platforms integrated systems and capability sustainment. Currently headquartered in Cambridge, the company operates a team of over 2,000 people across the globe.

Commenting on the relocation, Jonathan said:

“Over recent years, developments in Alconbury Weald have gone from strength to strength, and Marshall Land Systems’ decision to relocate to a new facility on the former RAF base is one that I warmly welcome.”

“As a well-respected Cambridgeshire company, the relocation will provide excellent new jobs and apprenticeship opportunities in a high-wage, high-skilled industry. I look forward to seeing the relocation get underway over the coming months.”
