Local MP received award on behalf of Barnabas Oley School

Jonathan Djanogly, MP for Huntingdon received the British Council’s International School Award on behalf of Barnabas Oley Church of England Primary School, Great Gransden on Monday 15 January 2024.

In celebration of this achievement, the British Council held the annual International School Award (ISA) presentation in Parliament.

The British Council’s International School Award is a framework for schools to incorporate international elements across their curriculum teaching, preparing young people for work in a global economy by increasing their understanding of other cultures. This includes collaborating with international partner schools and engaging with international learning activities as pupils progress through the school.

Jonathan said:

“I was honoured to be asked to accept this wonderful award on behalf of the school and celebrate the hard work and achievements of all the children at Barnabas Oley School.

With so much going on in the world today I’m confident that this award will increase pupil confidence. The award will also help them to be tolerant and aware of other cultures and languages; which can only positively affect our wider community.”
