Jonathan Djanogly welcomes new Russia sanctions

Today, Jonathan Djanogly, Member of Parliament for the Huntingdon Constituency, has strongly welcomed the Government’s decision to sanction a further six Russians involved in the persecution of Vladimir Kara-Murza.

Mr Kara-Murza, a dual British national, had his sentencing appeal in Moscow’s City Court rejected. He now faces twenty five years in a penal colony for his anti-war stance.

The newly sanctioned individuals include three judges and two prosecutors, all whom are immediately subject to asset freezes and travel bans.

Jonathan also welcomed the vocal support of both the Prime Minister and Foreign Secretary for Vladimir’s cause.

Further information about the new sanctions can be found here.
