Jonathan Djanogly MP has presented a petition of 6,309 Huntingdonshire residents to 10 Downing Street. The petition calls for the protection of services at Hinchingbrooke Hospital in the event of an unwanted merger between Hinchingbrooke and Peterborough Hospitals. Following the public march at which hundreds of people marched through Huntingdon in support of Hinchingbrooke Hospital Jonathan Djanogly has now taken his campaign on this vital local issue directly to the Prime Minister. Jonathan commented: “A merger between the two hospitals is being progressed following agreement from both Trust boards. We must now do everything we can to ensure that services are protected and strengthened at Hinchingbrooke Hospital. In presenting the petition to 10 Downing Street I have made the case for our hospital at the very highest levels of Government. I would urge local residents to continue signing my petition as a copy will also sent to the Secretary of State for Health later this month.” Jonathan’s petition can be signed online at www.jonathandjanogly.com/hospital_petition
