Jonathan Djanogly Member of Parliament for the Huntingdon Constituency has today voiced his support for the decision to reject N-Power's application for a wind farm in the Offords.

Mr Djanogly said,

'I welcome the decision by Huntingdonshire District Council to reject N-Power's planning application. I received many letters and e-mails from my constituents who were against the proposals. The turbines were to be bigger than Big Ben and would have dominated the local area. The environmental damage to the Ouse Valley Way would have been significant. This is very much a victory for common sense and I congratulate the local residents for the well organised and informed campaign that they ran.

'I am in no way against wind turbines and I feel they have a vital role to play in ensuring an environmentally responsible future for energy production but the proposed sighting in this case was simply wrong.'"
