Jonathan Djanogly has raised £218 for Macmillan Cancer Care by putting the kettle on. Jonathan hosted his own coffee morning at the Free Church in St Ives to raise funds for people affected by cancer. The event proved to be very popular as people were attracted by the home-made cakes and biscuits and the interesting raffle prizes which included tea for two in the House of Commons and a bottle of House of Commons wine. Mr Djanogly said; “Taking part in the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning is a great way to feel good about making a big difference. It’s amazing that something as simple as getting together for coffee and cake can help Macmillan Cancer Support provide so many vital services. It seems a little bit of what you fancy does Macmillan good! “Over two million people are living with cancer in the UK and the money raised will help Macmillan reach and improve the lives of even more of those people ? which is why it gets my backing.” The community-based event takes place all over the UK and last year pulled in over £7.5m for Macmillan. This year, the charity is hoping to raise over £8m so it can continue to provide vital services to people affected by cancer, including practical, emotional and financial support. For anyone who missed out on the day, you can still help – simply donate online at www.macmillan.org.uk/coffee or by calling 0845 602 1246.
