Following the start of the campaign by Jonathan Djanogly, Member of Parliament for the Huntingdon Constituency, to keep Huntingdon County Court, it has just been announced that the Court has won a Charter Mark Award for its customer service and service delivery.

Mr Djanogly said:

"These Awards are not easily given and clearly show what many local people have told me, that Huntingdon County Court provides an outstanding, effective and efficient service to local people - for which the Court staff and the Judge are to be congratulated.

I have today written again to the Lord Chancellor advising him of this Award and again requesting that he retains this excellent court service for the benefit of local people. It would indeed be an unacceptable position if the Court was to be abolished by one Government department, just after another Government department has given it the highest service award."
