Jonathan Djanogly has welcomed the unopposed election of Michael Howard MP as Leader of the Conservative Party.

Jonathan Djanogly, the Member of Parliament for the Huntingdon Constituency, has welcomed the unopposed election of Michael Howard MP as Leader of the Conservative Party.

Mr Djanogly said:

"Michael Howard will, I believe, make an excellent Leader of our Party. He has united Conservative MP's and given us a clear sense of purpose and direction in our vital role of developing and publicising our existing new policies, whilst actively opposing the increasingly directionless and failing activities of this Labour Government.

As Mr Howard has said: 'We know that this country can do much better'...'we shall apply rigorous honesty and measured criticism and realistic alternatives'...'I want us to be a Party for all Britain and all Britons'...'leading from the centre' and 'promise less and deliver more'.

I wholly endorse what Mr Howard has to say and he shall have my full support."
