Jonathan Djanogly has today invited all the schools in his constituency to take part in the celebrations to mark the 150th Anniversary of Big Ben.

Jonathan Djanogly Member of Parliament for the Huntingdon Constituencyhas today invited all the schools in his constituency to take part inthe celebrations to mark the 150th Anniversary of Big Ben.

Schools have been asked to design a Christmas card with the nationalwinning entry being chosen as the official Big Ben Christmas card for2009. The competition theme is 'Parliament and Big Ben'. The localwinner will have the opportunity for a tour of Parliament and a trip upthe clock tower. Mr Djanogly will also choose one of the entries for hisown official Christmas card.

Mr Djanogly said,

'This is a great opportunity to inspire young people's imaginations, engage them with Parliament and start Big Ben's 150th anniversary. I amsure that we will receive many entries and that the final decision willbe very difficult as the standard in previous competitions has alwaysbeen very high.'

NOTES1. Entries must be received by 28 February 2009

2. Entries should be sent to HCCA, 8 Stukeley Road, Huntingdon, PE29 6XG

3. There are four age categories. They are:
a) Reception, Years 1 and 2
b) Years 3 - 6
c) Years 7 - 9
d) Years 10 - 13 "
