Jonathan Djanogly, the Member of Parliament for the Huntingdon constituency, today welcomed the appointment by the Department of Transport of Costain Skanska as contractors to design the new A14 widening scheme between Ellington and Fen Ditton. The designs will result in draft Orders being published in early 2009. This will almost inevitably lead to a public inquiry, with construction expected to start in 2010, with completion in stages between 2012-2015.

Mr. Djanogly said:

"As delighted as I am to see that contractors have, at last, been appointed it is disappointing, given the terrible traffic situation, that final completion will not be until 2015."
