Jonathan Djanogly marks the end of ‘Movember’

4th December 2015

Jonathan Djanogly was delighted to be given a ‘wet-shave’, in Parliament to mark the end of Movember on 1st December.

Organised by the APPG on the Hair Industry, and in support of Prostate Cancer UK and the Movember Foundation, the event was designed to raise awareness of the health risks that men face, whilst celebrating the skills of British barbers.

Movember (the month formerly known as November) is a moustache growing charity event held during November each year that raises funds and awareness for prostate cancer, testicular cancer and men’s mental health.

Jonathan said:

“Every hour, one man dies from prostate cancer in the UK. It is vital that men understand the symptoms and seek help. Movember is a fantastic way of drawing attention to men’s health issues and I was delighted to take part.”

John Sims, Head of Business and Community Engagement, Movember Foundation said:

“Barbering is an integral part of the moustache ritual and the BBA are a long-term fundraising partner of the Movember Foundation. It’s great to see them grooming the MPs at their Movember finale, and brilliant that together they have all been raising awareness and funds for vital men’s health issues in Parliament this past month.”
