Jonathan Djanogly swapped his pinstripe suit for a fireman's uniform when he paid a visit to the town's fire station.

Mr Djanogly met with chief fire officer Graham Stagg on Friday, before trying his hand with the specialist cutting equipment typically used at the scenes of car accidents.

A fire service spokesman said: "Mr Djanogly's visit allowed us to highlight some of the more unusual and specialist types of work that firefighters have to deal with."
