Jonathan Djanogly: New online and telephone services will help parents and families in Huntingdonshire

27th October 2011

Jonathan Djanogly, MP for Huntingdon, has welcomed an £11 million investment in new online and telephone services which will help to support parents and families.

The Government is providing funding to eleven voluntary and community organisations to deliver a range of support including relationship advice, advice on educational issues and services tailored specifically for fathers.

Jonathan Djanogly said:

‘Every parent across the country can benefit from these services and I welcome the Government’s decision to trust organisations with a proven track record in supporting families to deliver them.

Online and telephone support will give families across Huntingdonshire the help they need, when they need it, without interfering in family life.’

Executive Leader of Huntingdonshire District Council, Councillor Jason Ablewhite, also welcomed the investment saying:

‘I very much welcome this government initiative. The Voluntary sector provide so much for our population and I think it right and proper that key groups are given this responsibility to deliver at the very heart of our local communities. Parenting is a tough vocation and in hard times doesn't get any easier. Help and support is vital to ensure that our future generations have the best start.’
