Djanogly Wants A14 Answers

30th April 2010

Jonathan Djanogly, the Conservative Party Parliamentary candidate for the Huntingdon constituency has today commented upon the oppositions silence on plans for the new A14.

Mr Djanogly said;

‘As the Member of Parliament for Huntingdon for the past 9 years, I have been pushing for the new road to be built as soon as possible and I will continue to do so if re-elected on Thursday 6 May. I believe it is vital to the regions health and economy.

‘There is every need for the new road and I am perplexed by the Liberal Democrats silence on this issue. Local Lib Dems at both HDC and Shire Hall are against the plans and nationally they want to stop all road building projects. If this is their stance then the Lib Dem candidate should come out and tell the people of Huntingdon whether or not he would block the proposals. We have a right to know what he would do.

‘I welcome the announcement of the dates for the public inquiry and am pleased that it is to be held in St Ives as although I continue to support the project, I feel it important that everyone has an opportunity to put their views.’
